Getting my 360 Online

I simply retrieved my xbox.com log in that I created a couple of days previous and it hasn't given me an option for Gold? It just says Silver membership when I check on the Xbox.

No, my Xbox is brand new. It was factory sealed from a high street store.

For my brother it didnt say, i just set up silver for him and he was able to connect to online games.

My friend has a crossover cable plugged from his xbox 360 into the ethernet port on his PC, in network connections he has Local Area Connection, Wireless Network Connection 2. His xbox is failing to obtain the IP address, any ideas?

Ive been speaking to Lead_Head and he says that in the Wireless Network Connection, right click, go to properties and advanced, then allow other uses to connect via this internet connection. But on my friends computer there isnt even the advanced option on the wireless network connection, only on the Local Area Connection. Ideas are greatly appreciated.

i had trouble with this ages ago.

ive bridged the connections. Run the test and it fails at getting a DNS.

current settings on the xbox are

IP Settings: Automatic
IP Address: 192.168.0.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1

DNS Settings: Automatic
Primary DNS Server 192.168.0.1
Secondary DNS 0.0.0.0

if i plug the cable direct from the router to the xbox it works fine so its something todo with the computer bit i think

any clues?

Might be worth giving MS a call and see if they can sort something out for you.

Got it sorted, signed up a new gamertag, actually one I prefer more, and it offered me the 1month free trial when I selected Silver.

Sorted :)

GL in your quest to solve your problem Arsey :)
