I abought some of this the other day "Kingston 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 1066MHz/PC2-8500 Hyperx Memory Non-ECC Cl5(5-5-5-15) Unbuffered" to go along with my newmotherboard "Asus M2N68-AM" and my new AMD Phenom Triple core 8450.

I am not trying to get the ram to run at 1066Mhz and it seems to sit at 800MHz I've tried what I read up on the internet which is switching the voltage to 2.2v and it didn't make any difference according to CPUID.

I'm not sure what I'm missing here any ideas?

Cheers,

Travis

where do you see it running at 800mhz, bios or cpu-z? what kind of motherboard do you have?

As on the description, SPD is 800MHz.

You need to set the RAM speed to 533MHz (DDR = 1066MHz), put the voltage to 2.2V and set the timings to 5-5-5-15.

Oh just went into bios and found the options.

Quick question about setting the timings, when i go into the options for DRAM timings i get this list.

CASlatency
TRCD
TRP
tRTP
TRAS
TRC
tWR
TRRD
tWTR
tRFC0
tRFC1
tRFC2
tRFC3

So which ones do i change to match the timings?

Err... well my screen just went blue and my pc crashed any ideas what i did wrong?

Just set the setting back to auto for the moment until i work out what went wrong.

Ok, so I've been experimenting and it hasn't work out so well.

2.20000v - 2min then crash
2.20635v - 4min then crash
2.21260v - 5min then crash
(thought i might be heading in the right direction)
Then
2.21875 - system froze at windows loading screen, rebooted and tried to get into bios, froze... rebooted and then my monitor wasn't picking up anything.

Have now re-set cmos settings (taking battery out etc, i read the manual)

Now I'm thinking maybe i should stick with 800Mhz?

Just reading now, installed asus update but it doesn't give all the same options for updating at the website.

On the website though are those all separate up dates or just newer/older versions?
