Would this be legal?

So, say I want to start a company and I want people to work on an 8 days calendar, work 5 days, then 3 days off and continue this cycle throughout the year. Have customised calendars made so they don't get confused etc would this be lawful?

Have 3 weeks every month so every 24th day marks the end of the month, 15 months a year with 5 blank day at the end of the year which will just be called christmas days, 6 days off if the Gregorian calendar had a leap in Feb to ensure new years day is the same for both calendars.

I think it would be brilliant.

On the normal calendar there is 261 working days. 261 * 7 = 1827 hours worked.
On my new calendar there is 225 working days. To combat the loss in hours simply add an hour to the working day (which I think is very reasonable trade off for an extra day at the weekend) so 225 * 8 = 1800 hours worked.

So as a boss I'd be giving my employees an extra ~4 days off but I'm sure they'd be much more productive and healthier in the long run minimising sick days.

And with my Saturday being the 24th of December it would ensure everyone gets a week off over Christmas.

Obviously bank holidays would have to be taken by the Gregorian calendar until the government inevitably changed to my superior system.

Yes, I have been drinking, but it's still a good idea imo.

Who would you do business with when your working days fall on the weekends? What if customers/clients wanted to get hold of your business during normal working week days?

15 months? The business year is normally in quarters. Would you opt for a termly year instead - splitting into 3 terms, 5 months each? My mind works in similar fashion but normal 4 months per term - Jan-Apr, May-Aug and Sep-Dec. Same as the Now albums :-)

No point drawing up a whole new week system for it. Plenty of people work non-standard patterns that don't neatly fall into mon-fri.

My brother often does say sat, sun, mon, tues as 10 hour shifts then has wed-fri off.

EDIT: While I'm not sure it would stand up or not to long term testing (could have just been the novelty) awhile back for awhile we tweaked the working week at work to work 4 slightly longer days and have 3 days off and there was no drop off in productivity and infact an increase though not massive, but also there was definitely a more positive atmosphere, unfortunatly then a new boss was appointed who was less open minded and put it back to 5 day weeks.

Mine is way better. Leap years don't even affect it, you just get an extra day off at christmas. Also, the previous year doesn't affect the layout of the next year so on my the 4th of Darwin is Thursday and will forever be thursday.

Christmas is always the same set days off, mothers day will always be the same day etc.

So much simpler. Also notice how much smaller my calendar is, even with extra months.

Oh, and aside from the new months, the new day is Bayesday.

The new months and day names could probably be negotiated upon official recognition of this new superior calendar.

It's all well and good, but if you are born on a Monday (the worst day of the week in any calendar) your birthday is on a Monday for the rest of time. At least with the current calendar I get a chance to have a Saturday birthday once in a while.
