Getting poor paint finish

So after a trip to get some of that Dulux paint, sanding and then repainting it's getting better!

The middle bit is looking pretty good, the more fiddly bits on the left and right are much better but still not perfect, I think mainly because I'd got bored of sanding by the time I got there!

Thanks for all the advice, hopefully I'll continue to improve as I get more practise, there is a lot of wood to paint in this house!

its very open grain. painting all comes down to mainly prep and how much you sand and get it right before painting.

use a good roller. i mean a good one aswell you'll get a better finish.

Try not to obsess about it to much! Once you've finished you will hardly ever notice it again and nobody else will spot it let alone comment on it!

I don't know about that I constantly examine peoples homes and the general finish level they have achieved.

Can't just be me.

But do you pass comment? If not frankly who cares what you think and if you do then your not the sort of person who would get invited back to mine!

The paint technologist I work with won't use anything other than Crown solvent based paints, they stay whiter for longer than any other. And no, I don't work for Crown or any other paint company. If anyone is interested I can explain why but I don't want to send the forum to sleep.
