Right guys i cant come to live with the H50, yeah it gives nice temps but im worried it will leak someday and fry my stuff so im heading over to air cooling...

Now what would be better than the H50 ?

Thanks

Corsair are usually very good and as long as you don't tamper with the unit they will probably cover repairs/replacements. Can't ever remember hearing of one leaking though.

Am shocked to hear this actually, with your spec details etc.. am actually just moving to water coming from air, my all in one unit comes tomorrow..

With the H50 being a sealed unit it is highly unlikely to leak and even if it did i would hope that there is a non-conductive fluid inside. I have had custom watercooling for over five years now with three blocks and a total of 8 couplings (6 with the blocks and two with the case bulkhead fittings) in the case and have never had a leak.

there have been a few reports ( although considering how many they sell)
thats nothing really, of a few leaking.
i wouldnt stress yourself about it, when i had mine, it was dragged about from piller to post, faultless.
...now my lad is using it in his rig too.

yeah i know what you mean guys but for the risks involved id rather have full watercooling with the reduced temps to go with it :)

Im sure there must be better air coolers with no risks :D

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme + 2 fan.. same performance as a H50 or maybe alittle better...

i totally understand you. i would never go to water cooling. because the amount u spend on the system and if it leaks you've lost it..

What about the venomous X are they any good ?

Fantastic mate. i have one with 2 vipers, If you want to run to fans its worth getting the cable that allows both fans to use the mobo header and run in pwm, then its wisper quite as i have set the fans to only spin up when the cpu core go above 60c (with has only happend on a very hot day running ibt)...

The venomous x is basically the latest version of the thermalright ultra extreme, the vx is one of the best air coolers available, second ony to the noctua nhd14 which is a massive beast of a cooler that takes up a lot of space and can block ram slots.

I'd highly recommend the Thermalright VX or the Noctua NH-D14. There are some benchmarks in my sig :).

I wouldn't mind testing the A70 at some point though...:p

Meh - you've got more of a chance of your washing machine leaking, frying, and burning your house down. Are you going to get rid of your washing machine? Sure - water cooling a PC is utterly insanely reckless, but live life on the edge, maaaaaaan!!

:)

Would second the venomous x recommendations - I have one and it's pretty good. Was tempted when buying to get a H50 instead but an air cooler just means one less thing to go wrong worry about, even if the risk is minute.

I can understand people risking water with a high end water setup, but I will never understand those that choose a budget water cooling device, manufactured by the lowest bidder that is easily outperformed by numerous air cooling solutions.

Also Corsair are very clear that they will not be held responsible for any damage to your kit arising from leaks.

Each to his/her own of course :)

P.S I recommend the D14/Vx too!
