Getting rid of the dust

My Dad has a air compressor, so I do it with that. Most people buy bottles of compressed air.

If you can't get hold of some then get the hoover out, blow in all the areas that are covered in dust and hoover the dust from the air.

For me once a month or so with compressed air, once every 6 months ill give it a more thorough clean (removing HSF etc).

With the compressed air its preferable to do it outside or with a vacum handy.

And thats with a well known dust magnet like the Antec 900 :)

usually air thingy that my friend has for cleaning dust out of camera lens and that works, my mum bought me a little usb hoover for like £2 but it doesnt do jack sh** just makes lots of noise

air compressor, i just hold my fans to make sure that i dont bust the bearings in them by making them spin fast with the air

I know it seems like a big thing to buy for your computer, but if you're regularly going to use compressed air on your PC then maybe you should look at buying an air compressor.

Not sure of the price of them, but surely you could get one for fairly cheap that in the long run would save you money?

AFAIK, I don't think you're allowed to post compressed gasses. would be good though :)

EDIT: Just found THIS but cant make heads or tails of it at this hour. :\

Then how come you can order it online from elsewhere? I'm sure about a year or so ago I ordered a can and had it posted. (Well actually it was in the hands of City-Link so I ended up getting it from their depot. :p )

PK!

last time i looked they were about £200 but i cant remember it looked liek a little engine or generator . noisy as hell to

i use one of them little black & decker dustbusters, but best way to reduce dust is to put dust filters over your fan sucking air into the case, i used to clean every month but now only clean every 3 months or so.

Air is pricey. I use a dampened cotton bud, its great for getting fine dust off all the non-electrical components, and if anything sticks a little Muck-Off works a treat!

Dry cotton buds seem to pick up a fair bit from transistors etc before they get too laden - never had any probs with them.
