just got this card today and want to try and get the audio to carry out via HDMI to my TV.

i know this is possible but i have no idea where to start. I cant see where to enable this.

Am doing this (or trying to) on Vista 64 with a p5b mobo. It doesnt look like you have to physically connect anything to the card. Cant find any help on this on the AMD site

cool. will give it a go.

am curious tho... at the mo i have it connected via dvi-hdmi. do you really have to have the HDMI adapter connected? surely the cable as is should be ok?

Can sound now carry down the HDMI port throught the graphics port on the motherboard!
Reason is when I built my my media center earlier this year I bought a MSI 7600GT with HDMI port, the only way I could get sound down the HDMI cable was connect the SPDIF from the motherboard to the graphics card using the cable supplied with the GPU.

If your using the DVI to HDMI adapter I am not sure if this will work.

yeah. am using a dvi-hdmi cable to connect to my tv. am hoping it will work as is without having to buy a hdmi-hdmi cable and using the adapter.

DVi on the TV wont have sound, you need HDMi on the TV's end, dunno if you deffenitly need HDMi on the cards end.

I don't think using a dvi to hdmi cable is going to work, that you DO need the adapter - and then connect hdmi-hdmi cable. The adapter does some jiggery ati stuff, I don't think it a standard dvi-hdmi adapter.

the card should have came a adapter because the card as onboard sound for hdmi.

a standard dvi-hdmi adapter won't carry the sound..
