Getting Steam keys from other sites

My Polish is fluent, I'm just a bit crap at writing in it...

So, does anyone know if it's legal or not, as in, steam won't ban my account like they do when you use a proxy to buy in dollars while in the eurozone ?

Would like to know this too, are this genuine sales or not, wouldn't I get banned from buying from there ?
I guess it depends on whether Valve can identify which keys have been provided by this company. Unless Valve know specifically which keys get sent to which distributors, then I'd think it's unlikely.

However, I remember seeing something somewhere about some "region restricted" versions that were sold by this company.... I think they're from Russia and Thailand, or something like that, and are only supposed to be sold there... so Valve know something's up when those keys appear in an account registered in Europe.

Poland is part of the EU so it would be against the law for Valve to do anything to your account for buying these CD keys. While I haven't used the site before it's recieved quite a lot of attention and it appears pretty legit.

i once used hotcdkey.com which is a chinese site that sells cdkeys i bought all the guild wars cdkeys from them because they were far cheaper than what ncsoft charged on there site :p

i had a phone call to verify who i was from some chinese woman who spoke good english and then recieved the cdkeys in my email within minutes proper photos of the cdkeys aswell.

so atleast some of those cdkey sites are legit

I imagine its a Distributor who simply opens retail games and emails the codes out at a fraction above cost price?

Simply out, your cutting our the middle man :)

What with the different currency etc, you get a bargain.

most of the sites are run from china so i guess games out there are dirt cheap.

its been known for people to buy damaged shipping containers that were full of pcgames though so they can sell the cdkeys

Well I just got L4D via this site off my girlfriend for a birthday present. I am in Korea atm, but it is working fine. I also know of another ocuk user based in the uk who has one working. So seems legit.

i have mates that buy the serial keys from the bay and other places, borrow the DVD and install using the bought 'serial' ... a few purchased CoD WAW keys for £12-14 and have been playing online for months with no problems..

im too old and weary of these but they seem legit

If its a Polish site would it not be the Polish version of the game? Not that there may be any difference, but I know the German versions are different with less gore, etc.

If the site gives out the cd keys via email though, it might want to deal with a larger customer base then just Polish customers, and so buy all versions of games, or whatever is the most popular version, to then sell on to end customers worldwide.

The Polish prices are really really cheap, even by Polish standards. New games in the shops over there range from 100pln - 150pln, which is already cheaper than brits pay.

The games I bought in the shops when I was living there were usually the English versions, but included a patch to convert them to Polish. I'd guess these would be the same, or at least have a language option.
