Getting stuff from USA, a cheaper way?

Howzit Guys,

Could anyone tell me if there is a cheaper way of importing stuff from the USA. I have a friend over there with some car parts I need. Is there a cheap way of doing this? What sort of services can I use.

If you wanna do it the proper way - i.e buying over the net, you will get a custom charge possibly.
Other ways include getting your item marked GIFT instead of MERCHNDISE, get someone to send over to you etc.

Be careful, it might appear cheap but then you might not be able to evade the custom charge eventually.

Well, I'm buying from a single guy there. He just needs to send a few very small, light weight parts to me. However sending it, he says postage is a massive killer, they want to chargew him like a $100 USD?? or something that weighs less a cup of tea.
