Getting the itch to upgrade my graphics card

Hey Folks,

I was wondering which card is currently best bang for buck, I play games at 1680 x 1050. My 8800GT just doesn't quite cut it anymore.

4850 has a reputation for great value/performance ratio.

If you can though try and grab one of the cheap 4870's going or a cheap gtx260.

Imo more vram, a 1 gig card like the 4870 or the 280 / 285 would be great. A 260 - 216 would also be top banana

Yeah, try for a GTX 260 or a 1GB 4870. Anything lower isn't a massive step up.

512mb should be alright if you stick to that resolution, anything more and you might want to get the 1gb version

Have a look at the 4870-1GB or GTX260-216, depends a bit on your preferences and what price you can get them for.

Well if he wanted the best he can get, sure! Not sure about the value for money at the moment with the credit crunch. I'd love one, but not at those prices.
