Hi guys I really want to get the most out of my Wii (Graphics)

The only problem is i dont have a Composite port.... :(

I have tried the RGB into the TV (not so good)

I have tried the bundled RGB-SCART (okish not the greatest)

Official S-Video (????)

Official Scart (????)

Component (Best, but i dont have the ports :()

DVI (they dont make one  )

Which would you recommend with my circumstances for BEST Wii Graphics :D

Thanks!!!! :p

If you dont have component, official RGB-SCART would be your best bet, you'll get a much smoother picture than with the bundled composite lead.

I think you're getting a bit confused. Composite is bundled with the Wii. RGB Scart will give you a better picture, it's probably the best you'll get on a standard telly.

Yeah connecting the composite cables into a scart adaptor doesn't make it rgb. :p Then again the tv might not even support rgb.

Component
VGA
S-Video
RGB Scart
Scart/Composite

I think that's the order of quality. Component is the best though.
Why do people keep quoting VGA as a Wii output? Have I missed something, and if the Wii has VGA why on earth is it worse than component

And VGA is better than component.

I'm sure there is a VGA cable for the Wii (sure someone posted a picture of an asian one before).
And I have never seen VGA be better than Component on any screen yet.

Ah I know what you're on about now. That's a japanese standard for inputting component via a VGA port, not true VGA.

I hope by your second sentence you're not referring just to the 360 pre patch as that would be foolish.

Edit: Just to expand on my point:

The 360 VGA was poorly implemented and it has now been corrected. In all cases where VGA is implemented correctly it offer much sharper images and larger colour depth. It's factually a superior connection.

That may be true, but I've not had time to try it since the update (hell my 360 isn't even updated!) but prior to that on 3 TV's component had always been superior. I'm sure that has changed now though.

Aye but think about PC outputs. VGA if following the correct standards absolutely spanks component for picture quality.

Hmm, interesting - so on my bog-standard widescreen Sony telly, at the moment I'm using the lead plugged into the 3 separate sockets on the front - are you guys saying its worth paying ~£15 for the 'proper' scart lead, as opposed to using the adapter thingy that comes in the box? Will I notice a difference?

Cheers for the advice! :)

Yes, a proper RGB Scart cable will (should) make a marked improvement.

RGB is also better than component on a standard CRT, Component is only 1 wire better than s-video.
