Getting the upgrade itch....it needs scratching.

Even though my desktop is running fine, I feel like I need to give it a boost.

Current set-up is:

i5-750 @ 4ghz + Corsair H50-1
MSI P55-GD80
4x 2gb 1600mhz DDR3
2x Asus 5850 1gb X-fire
2x 320gb HDD's RAID 0
OCZ 900w PSU

I reckon a 240gb SSD might be a safe bet but being as I've never even looked at one before I'm a little unsure if it would be worth it and which one to go for.

Main uses are gaming and lots of photo editing.

Deffo get an ssd, if you need a boost to that rig imo samsung are top then look at an m4

Intel SSD's are quite good also.

How much money have you got for your upgrade? Might be worth getting a nice new GPU.

Don't really have a budget, however I can't say the 5850's are beginning to struggle in anything I play yet so I'm quite reluctant to swap until I have to if I'm honest.

Keep in mind that until you upgrade the board and cpu you will be stuck at Sata 2 speeds. You will still see a big difference, just not the full capability of a Sata 3 drive.
