getting this popup msg

Hi all

i am not sure if this popup alert thing is part of windows firewall or just another adware thing?

here a pic of popup

now i went into msconfig then startup items and i can't see anything that should not be running so i am not sure the best way to get rid of it ?

Looks like a popup? Download Adaware (free) and see what it picks up, hopefully it will get rid of the message.

It's caught some stuff that AdAware has missed before.

If the above programs don't work, then try Smitfraud fix; http://www.precisesecurity.com/tools-resources/adware-tools/smitfraudfix/

And SuperAntiSpyware.

Smitfraudfix is a tool made specifically for removing these type of rouge programs.

the above program did find stuff so o thought it was gone but then it poped up again lol

ok so far so good that Smitfraud found a few things and got rid of them

and the popup has yet to return

but some thing else happen as well my desktop/ taskbar and icons fanished on me 2 times and i need to restart to get all bk to normal ?

could be nothing but ill wait and see if it happens again

Have you tried running said programs in safe-mode also? They may find more items.

Well, in my experience safe-mode always finds more stuff... usually.

Sometimes it's good to find the path of the file, i.e like if one of the programmes finds a file in such and such folder, you can note it down on piece of paper then re-boot into safemode and just delete it straight out no messing about.(i had an extremely bad pop out thing once that no programme could remove then had to go safemode which deleted it right away.)

My window's bars have vanished too sometimes but it's nothing to worry about most of the time.
