Getting very bored of PC games, need something different

I'm normally into horror titles but everything I come across recently seems really dull.

The last game to really get me interested was Minecraft and I was obsessed with L4D2 for years. Now nothing I venture into seems interesting. I want something fresh and innovative but can't seem to come across anything. Does anyone have some suggestions?

Dark Souls.....The first thing that leapt in to my mind when reading that

Scared me ****less in places!

maybe give this a try :
http://www.rawbots.net/page/rawbots

its in early access so not all fetures are enabled / available but seems to have a lot of potential

A universe where you can play with amazing robots that are designed, built and even programmed by you.

Everything is a robot, doors, roads, walls, bridges, safes, traps, turrets, surveillance systems, etc. Build forts, towers and architect impressive structures to protect your planets and resources. You may play solo or with friends to infiltrate, conquer planets and gather resources.

Traditional keyboards and mouse can be used along with midi devices, gamepads, iOS and Android devices. Create your own input setups and master your designs, whether it is controlling a huge robot or entire armies of relentless minions.

The Rawbots universe has a unique set of matter, energy and physics laws. These laws are engineered to serve up fun emergent gameplay that is different every time you play. Everything you would expect from a sandbox game and more. We are taking this to the next level with gameplay that truly emerges beyond imagination and defined contextually by the type of robots you build. On one planet you might experience a first person shooting experience, go into a space battle in 3rd person, and down into an RTS offensive on another planet.

Interesting , but is it worth it?

Honestly its a personal thing. i suspect most people will prob hate it, especially since its still in alpha and has a lot of work left on it, but i think it'll end up like KSP once it starts getting closer to completion.
I've not had a lot of time to play it but it seems quite interesting, especially since its going to be Multi-player

I've taken the punt :) £6.50p can't moan

Depends on what genre you prefer or if you fancy something different. Sometimes a change is as good as a break. I find when time I'm done, my interest in shooters normally resumes.

CoH2 is next in my play list after 3 or 4 shooters in succession.

[title corrected for you too :p]

I was getting bored of games that most people raved about pretty quickly. Then I borrowed a PS3. I have since realised it's not so much bordeom but the ease with which I can switch to other things that was problem. Died? Switch. Minor niggle? Switch. Message alert? Switch. It takes ages to switch games on PS3 and I only have 1 HDMI input on my monitor so switching to something else is a hassle. I am now spending longer playing and less time trying to figure out what to play.

The problem with some gamers is, they're not actually gamers, they're collectors of games. They play something for 5 minutes and get bored, they won't commit to playing anything challenging that takes effort and time to learn.

'I can't find anything to play'????

Garbage - there's endless quality titles out there, both from usual devs and Indie, if YOU can't find anything of interest to play - then gaming is not for you, it is that simple.

Too many people think they're gamers when the reality is that unless there's INSTANT gratification they just can't be arsed.

It's as stupid as saying 'I can't find anything to read' - no, you just don't want to commit the time and effort to read anything.

Me too so bored tapping through the games id been fascinated with recently - fast paced FPSs and MMOs. Now ive got a 7970, 120mhz screen, G15 keyboard and a Naga mouse with 800 buttons available and the thing that has kept me up for a couple of nights is the original Torchlight lol.

Might go back and revisit games i hadnt played the first time round but are now considered classics.

Easily solved,, get a PS3, and, The Last of us, quite easily the best game ive ever played, naughty dog have raised the bar to new heights:)
