Getting yourself in the mood.

I know it's gonna get me flamed but I find it really sad that people/youngsters feel the need to have several drinks BEFORE going out ..... no wonder we talk about binge drinking!

I know times change and all that but I do really mean that I find it sad.

I have been quite a heavy drinker all my life and can drink a lot of ale/whisky throughout a night out yet still be ok to get myself home etc yet I constantly see people in their 20s absolutely smashed and acting like ****s ...... something's wrong when you have to get totally ****ed to "enjoy" yourself ...... IMO.

Sorry, I'm old. :)

^ no, i totally agree with you there :)

i drink before i go out, so i only need to buy 1 or 2 drinks when i'm out to keep myself at a moderately tipsy level. hence only ever taking a tenner out in cash with me (had my wallet stolen once)

I like a drink before I go out, it chills me out.

It also helps when your paying £3+ for a bottle in a club or £5 for a glass of spirit/mixer, I hate going into bars and clubs being sober while everybody else is merry just makes me feel paranoid.

normally just listen to some nice loud music, get chaged from my whatever I'm wearing, normally don't have my first drink until I'm out, normally up for buying the first round.

Got told to buy a bottle of buckfast by a customer when i was working in a off licence, dam its good lol!

Hmm getting ready usually consists of very loud music for half hour, couple of beers of shots, mad phone calling of people who are suppose to be coming out on the night in question then some form of sandwhcih, usually consists of the most random contents of the fridge i can find.

if its a big night out (when i say big i mean big) then i take about at the least 3 hours to get ready.

i usually start the day being lazy, then around 5ish id have a shower/shave etc, moisturize all over, do my hair (wash/blowdry/straighten/and maybe some curls) do makeup perfectly and everything like that, the drink i drink when getting ready is martini and coke, what id be wearing would already be planned 1-3 days previously.. ummmmmmmmm.. what else do i do.
i think thats it.

i make a big effort when i go out.

I'm from a town called Lurgan in an area called Craigavon in Northern Ireland. The people from NI will know what I'm talking about, all locals are afflicted with the same addiction.

:D I thought you would be a local, when you mentioned Buckfast.

That stuff is rotten. I haven't even drank it, the smell of it is as close as I'll get to it.

Brown paper bagged? You are right to be ashamed.

Dance or rock music for a few hours before I go out usually does the trick. This coupled with a bit of socialising on msn. But i'd have to say the most successful way to get in the mood from experience has been liquid confidence- vodka.

Maybe I'm lacking a bit of imagination here but a big night usually starts the same as any other night out, I'll usually have a shower before heading down the pub with mates and go on from there. This is why pretty much any night out can be a big night or it can be quiet, it just depends on what is happening and what mood everyone is in.

HAz, no I haven't tried it because I don't think I have even seen Carlsberg regular when I have been out. What is special about "edge"?

I usually power nap if I need to. I usually have my PC going with 50 odd MSN windows, loud rock music playing while socialising/drinking with my friends/flatmates. I then jump in a nice hot shower, get changed - shave if needed, drink a bit more and head off out :)

I like to be merry before I get into a club or whatever because I hate it when you're not and by the time you manage to start having a good time, you realise you have about 10 minutes till closing time :(
I prefer being merry than legless. Legless is pointless and you just feel awful (although it can be amusing). If you arrive at a club already merry, it's just a case of staying in that state and it doesn't put a huge hole in your pocket either :p

If you're in a hurry, special brew is a saviour but the stuff is pure filth.
I'm usually a cider person, but tend to drink lager and whiskey & draught mixers too.
