GF's laptop problems

keeps crashing when we have a video conversation in msn live messenger, really ******* me off, as you could probably guess. any ideas what she can do? she doesnt have any disks that came with the laptop

so any hlep will be aprechiated.

Reinstall ANY camera drivers you have, webcam, digicam etc.

One of them is dying when MSN starts, like if I go to webcam without the cam plugged in MSN dies on me.

okay so if its her webcam, could that be why i get horrible white noise sometiems when in a video convo?

Could well be.

But it seems to me to be an issue with a video capture device driver from what you have said.

well she's being a stubborn ***** and wont re-install drivers incase if ****'s up her pc. women...

I KNOW. tell me about it. she wont install the drivers incase if stops working, well it isnt exactly working now is it? thanks for the help anyways

re-installed the webcam drivers and no luck.. what else could it be?

usb drivers....if its a usb camera

try a different usb socket, sometimes that helps

Can you get us the application event log? The error details in there might be more useful. The MS error message could be triggered by another error before it caused by something else entirely.

Try updating to newest version of messenger. Or use another IM application. Have you seen it crashing yourself?
