gfx card is not recognised... sometimes. Help needed.

I'll try 1.1V and around on the vtt and see what happens.

If it was the cmos battery that had gone flat surely it would never boot up after a long period of inactivity because the charge would have gone? Wouldn't it also affect bios settings? If the cmos battery was at fault wouldn't keeping the pc on for a while generate a small retained charge and so subsequent reboots would recognise the gpu? Because that hasn't been the case.

Did you manage to sort this out mate?

It's going through a working period at the moment. The vtt is at 1.07V so maybe that has helped. I won't be holding my breath though cause it's done this a few times. I'll be back here if it stops working again. For the mean time, thanks for all the help guys.

So the issue has cropped up again after almost 2 months of pretty reliable use. Turned the pc off one night and the gfx card hasn't been recognised for the past 3 days. Only thing thats been different the last couple of months is that the signal cuts out during use every so often. Always for about 1 second but frequency and situation is totally random, during gaming, while browsing etc. I really don't understand why it works (relatively) fine one day and then the next the gfx card isn't even recognised. Any help would be really appreciated.

Is anything overclocked in your system?

If it works in another machine, it could be worth testing another power supply, it's possible that if it's not supplying enough power on boot then it wont detect the card after that.

I normally have both my cpu and gpu overclocked. However i've tried dropping everything back to stock on numerous occasions and it doesn't make a difference.
Todays events (cpu overclocked, gpu not, as per the last few days), 3 start ups in the morning, no gfx card recognised. Went to the gym and when i got back thought i'd try for the heck of it... and it worked. Its so random.
