I'll try 1.1V and around on the vtt and see what happens.
If it was the cmos battery that had gone flat surely it would never boot up after a long period of inactivity because the charge would have gone? Wouldn't it also affect bios settings? If the cmos battery was at fault wouldn't keeping the pc on for a while generate a small retained charge and so subsequent reboots would recognise the gpu? Because that hasn't been the case.
