looking to buy a custom built system, just want advice on gfx

i been looking at getting 2 gtx 580 ones for ages http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-243-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812, then i came across OC site and saw the 580 palit 3gb one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-153-OK&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1812 for pratically the same price, so my question is which 2 get? considering 2 gtx 580 would be double the price for the same as getting 1 3gb 1

How many monitors are you running and what will do you use your PC for mainly? Only time that VRAM would really be kicking in surely if you had a few monitors on the go. I was going to get a Palit but I ain't been paid yet and the offer runs out in the morning and I'm going for a dual monitor set up with just the one with the idea of upgrading to SLI in the future.

It really depends on what you use it for.
3gb will only be useful if you have 3 monitors.
What resolution do you plan to game/work at and what programs do you use?
Memory size doesnt mean everything. The 3gb 580 is not twice as better. They are the same card. One just has more memory. Like two identical computers except one has 3gb RAM and the other has 6gb.
TBH 580 SLI is probably way over what most will use it for. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

To help you more we need to know your requirements and budget aswell as your monitor res and size plus any uogrades you plan soonish

just gaming really, nothing really intense, more of a ps3 gamer really, but afew online rpg like wow, upcoming starwars online, bit of dc universe prob max use my graphical need, jus 1 monitor Samsung P2450H 24"

agreed. 1x 580 1536mb is more than enough to max all those games.althoutgh at the same price, theres no reason not to go for 3gb. but only get a second 580 later, after the 595 is released and pushes prices down.
