I have a thread in the CPU section about this as I originally thought it was a cpu overheating problem, however, playijng cod4 MP and it changed map. I got the following screen :(



GFX card is a 7800GTX 256MB RAM.

Does this mean it is my gfx card on the way out? Any diagnostic programs I can run to make sure?
 
Heat. same with my 7900GT. If I drop to 400Mhz and leave the case side off, all is fine.

It hits 105C before crashing totally and starts artifacting like yours above 80C.

What temps are you getting?

I;m fitting a better cooler and new thermal compound before giving up on mine.
 
I am running mine stock, 2 years and not a problem at all with it.

Trying to download some software now for monitoring heat etc. Using stock fan as I haven't had any trouble until now!
