GFX to power 1,920 x 1,200

Hi Guys,

I have been away from the forums and consumer hardware in general for a couple of years and am now getting back into it hardcore. First thing I need to do though of course is build myself a top machine.

Whilst i've been under a rock the world has moved around me so I need some help to catch up.

I am planning to buy the HP w2408 24" monitor as I get a staff discount, it runs at 1,920 x 1,200 so I obviously need a reasonable card to power it when i'm gaming.

I am aware that ATi are going to release a new family next month so I will be waiting until that happens before I buy.

I am looking to spend under £200 and would like as much bang for my buck as I can!

What are your fine opinions then?

well if youre waiting at least a month, then the new cards will be out as you say. At that time I expect the older top range ones (8800 GTX's etc) will be well below £200. That should sort you for a good while.

stick with the drugs, cheaper than a pc addiction and you keep the weight off too
