Will be due to upgrade my system in the up coming weeks, but with the release of Black Ops my current graphics card seem to struggle to cope with it.

I have around £200 to spend on a GFX card. I will be upgrading the rest of the system at a later date. (Motherboard, CPU, RAM, SSD).

Cheers

470 about on par with 6870 and clocks higher. Much better buy than the 6870 given the current prices. Get a 470 and keep the rest in your pocket. No contest.

Brilliant, now for possibly my last question. Is there much difference between the "branded" cards compared to the OCUK one other than different cooling and "looks". Is the OCUK the best bang for buck 470 to buy without penny pinching?!

the OCUK version will actually be a Point of view or Palit or maybe Inno3D model, its what ever they have bought a large amount of stock off, they will be a reference design.

Great help thanks guys. Think ill pop up OCUK tomorrow and pick one up, I'm presuming these work fine to clock with msi afterburner!? And if needed in the future work great when in SLi?

Yep, used afterburner to clock mine, 750mhz so far, (stock core speed of 630mhz), sli will be possible as well, considering this myself, though theyll require a decent psu and will run a bit hot.

Don't you worry Stulid, I'll be straight here asking questions. Quick reply's and good answers :)

Just got decide how much I'm spending and when. Possibly around £700 for CPU,MB, RAM all to fit into my Lian-Li PC V-1100. Will be upgrading the fans int his also for better cooling.

nothing wrong with that.

but I could post a complete i5 spec including ram for the same price, that will still do SLI/crossfire and in gaming you wouldn't notice a difference.

oh, sorry.

I lied!!!!!

I was able to include a performance cooler too!!!!!!

if i was to spend around about an extra £100 on the i5 build, what areas would i be looking to upgrade on this?

nothing.

thats the best i5 CPU, the motherboard does SLI/crossfire at an equal speed, 8X/8X for the pci-e slots(not all of the "cheaper" P55 chipset boards do, they mostly do 16X/4X for the two slots causing performance issues)

good cooler and ram from a top maker, the ram is also low in height so the large cooler wont interfere.
