Ghetto room cooling

What about butchering a small freezer for the electronics and some elements, whack that in a cool box with a fan

Similar to what I've been playing with with peltiers - you need to exhaust the heat outside the environment you are trying to cool and ridiculous wattage really to actually make much odds to a room's temperature.

A tower fan on its side along the bottom of the bed. Luckily I'm short, so I don't kick it off. Works a treat.

Bit posh me, I have a fancy pants split inverter system... Brrrrrrr

Super quiet and gets the temps down super quick, sometimes it gets too cold! All the noisy hot bits are outside.

I don't want to drop a few hundred in something that I only need a few days a year.

Anything else just heats the room up because of the energy it's putting into it.

It's well worth it, they last for years and you can't put a price on a good nights sleep.

Icey, new, shiny, cooly, sleepy.[/QUOTE]

I have something similar and it's wonderful. When I buy my own house, I'm definitely going to look at getting a split inverter system or really, really good central air conditioning. It'll be well worth it in southern California.

I bought my AC unit well over 10 years ago, i still working fine :)

Certainly really helps on a hot sticky night when I can sleep under my duvet in the cold   :D
