Ghost/image software

i want to create a restore image file that I can restore from in the event of a hard disk failure etc.. from booting from a CD or alike then restoring from the said image file.

That is the core function that all the discussed image backup solutions (including even Windows backup) will do.

I use Acronis at work all the time with no complaints, it's simple and it just works
