best wishes to all, from new member, A.

i have the ubi game 'ghost recon' pc dvd-rom and played many levels successfully, but now when i open the game, i only get as far as the 'installation box', click 'play ghost rec advanced warfighter' then nothing happens. when i open another ubi game 'brothers in arms' there is no problem,what can be causing this? Regards A.
 
I had problems like this with BF2 when I changed from a CRT to a TFT monitor, it was down to refresh rates in the game etc.

So really, question is, has there been any changes to your hardware since it last worked? New monitor, graphics card etc etc?

no new hardware, but i have uninstalled norton software, 'antivirus and firewall' and got rid, now on 'active virus shield and microsoft firewall', that's it. A.
 
Hmmm, not sure then.

I would suggest backing up your save games then try a reinstall, see if that helps.

Or try posting on some GR forums to see if it is a problem that is common with the game.

there is an issue iwth the full game regarding MS update KB917422 and Kaspersky AV. if you have these then the game will not start. I guess that would be the same for the demo to.



/edit, @ amriding, I misread first post, thought you just meant Ghost Recon and not GRAW, so the above might be aplicable to yourself to. erm although i dont think you have Kaspersky installed. might be worth removing that windows patch just to test, you can always reinstall it later.
