Ghosting with new GPU

I just upgraded my GPU from an Nvidea card to an AMD RX9070. My monitor is a ASUS VG27A. It is running at 165 Hz but I seem to get excessive ghosting in games. The monitor says it has adaptive sync then in brackets (G-sync Compatible) and the AMD app says adaptice syn is enabled. I just cant get rid of the ghosting. Any suggestions
 
Do you have a different cable you can try? Or a different type such as switching from HDMI to Displayport?

Failing that could you hook it up to your TV?
 
It's your monitor chris it has rather poor response time and blurry motion even at 165Hz.
