Any word on these? Just ordered a 6950, picking up 2 more monitors around xmas time so one of these would be useful to have.

If it's any indication, when the 58** started shipping and we all needed active DVI->DP adaptors it took a month or two for them to appear at OCUK (or anywhere else for that matter). so i guess it will be a while before they are plentiful.
 
Sorry to ask such a nobbish question but how are they active? Doesn't active adaptors imply they require some sort of power source, normally there's a USB connection coming of them to draw the power they need.

active is only when there is active conversion of signal .passive would carry hdmi or dvi signal through the displayport single link can draw enough power through displayport
 
just pre-ordered one of these. I hope it will put an end to my 3 monitor/1 card display hassles.

I have a cheapo mini display to full size display socket adaptor coming from HK as backup. I can then re-try the crappy Dell adaptor that I already have
