** GIBBO TAKES OVER SSD!! **

All the 840s recently got sold off for crazy prices like £100 for a 250gb isntore at a large retail high street chain for example, im guessing Samsung told anyone holding them to offload at a cheap price and they would help cover costs?

Anyhow coupled with the dodgey press the 840 received lately and the arrival of the 850 they all got offloaded sharpish.

SSD Prices seem to have been falling a lot lately, ive been keeping an eye as i need a couple of new storage drives, these are cracking prices for great drives. I wonder though if the prices will drop even further soon? maybe, maybe not, time will tell.

That's how they operate, they follow others prices. :)

Considering their size I'm very surprised that they follow the prices set by much smaller competition so they must see OcUK as a viable threat in this area

I have a 500gb Samsung 840. and just bought a Samsung 850 500gb (for wins 10) to replace mine which Samsung has had issues with. the 840 had a firmware update fixed late 2014 most issues were fixed, but still not the greatest SSD because of it's issues. Hope the 850 is a better performer?

I see it the other way. Charge as much as possible within reason until you have to drop your price. Given the amount they shifts just an extra pound or two could equate to a lot.

It doesn't matter about your size, I sell "only" around 2000 transactions a month, but they still match me if I sell on their platform.

If I increase my price on a certain item they beat it by around £1. If I lower my price massively they still beat it by around £1. This only seems to work for items that I have sold there for a while, so it isn't really exploitable :D

I am tempted with the 1tb drive but the wallet is saying no :(

Actually I might add another 500gb and use a external memory stick for additional storage .... Hmm ......

How many bags or Harribo do the other companies hardware come with is the question they are useful for distracting kids or other interested parties with while you get too the hardware lol
