That i7 is a stonking price but an i5 is still cheaper and is more than fine for the mass majority of gamers.

You're only really going to see the benefit of an i7 over an i5 if you go multi high end GPU (e.g. 670/680/7950/7970) and if the game is helped by HT.

If not, even at this price a £165 ish i5 3570K is going to be perfect.

Yeah £200 is a great price for a i7 cpu, i5's are selling for £170. I really wanted an i7 when I first bought my i5 but lack of funds didn't allow. However I can put it on the credit card for now and recoup over half of it from selling the i5.

Yeah i see what you mean, the i5 3570k and i73770k are both bundled in all the pc deals and they are so cheap its hard to complain.

120/250bg SSD
2TB HDD
800/1000w psu
8/16gb ram
+ a case
for under £1000

If i buy seperate its hard to come anywhere near, this is why ill wait i think as if i go i7 2700k and buy a 670 even its close to £600 lol.

Thing is i cant pull £1k out my pocket to buy one at this time.

Did you not listen?

No benefit of an i7 over an i5 unless you're running 2 high end GPU's.

Matt is updating not because he's got a massive bottleneck, he's upgrading because the cost is going to be small after selling his old one.

To be honest even on a massively GPU dependent resolution such as 5760*1080 moving from an i5 to i7 only gained me 3-5% at the very maximum. The gains will be smaller at a single monitor resolution if at all.

Save the £40 and get an i5.

You'd be far better putting the price difference between an i5 and an i7 towards a better GPU.

Yeah i know what you mean rusty but still thats £560 if i wait and buy a full system it will still work cheaper.

Think ill pass even though it is a good deal and like you said wont benefit me unless im sli/cf.
