Anyone got any suggestions for a gift for my best man? He's paying for my stag do and is refusing to let me pay my half so I want to get him something a bit better than any of the standard engraved stuff you get at weddings.

My budget is around £100. I want to get him something that he'd actually use rather than just put in a cupboard and forget about it. He likes a drink but I don't think he'd a appreciate an expensive bottle of something.

Top of my list at the minute is a soundbar as he's just done up his house and I know he is looking at getting one for his TV. He's just had a kid and already has a 4 year old so I don't think a RC helicopter or the like will get much usage, or if it does it'll get broken by the nipper!

Any suggestions?

£120 would buy a Nexus 7 (2012) if he doesn't already have a tablet. That's something that won't just sit in a cupboard.

Unless you know he wants that specific sound bar then don't get him something he is planning on getting himself! He may very well have something picked out after ding research which will make it awkward when you buy him one and it's not the one he wanted.

An experience day voucher sounds like a good bet though.

Thanks for the replies folks.

He's already got a decent sound system for his main TV. He's looking at a soundbar as he wants it wall mounted under the TV with minimum wires and no need for a sub.

He's already got an iPad, but good shout :)

Experiences can make better gifts when you hit that price range. Things like a track day or a flying lesson?
I had thought of a track day but I've read about a lot of people complaining about getting a naff instructor that wont allow them to put their foot down and go for it. Flying is a good shout as there's an airfield near me that does that sort of thing :)

My missus said exactly the same thing. He's not the kind of guy that researches things for hours before buying though, whereas I do, so I reckon I THINK I'd do an ok job...

My mate got everyone pocket watches for his best men, engraved etc. One of the better presents I've ever seen, didn't look cheap either.
