The cpu/board will not start up without at least one of the two connected. I would have thought that your psu would have these connections - should connect the 8 pin socket.

Hope this helps

Mark
Ps it is a great board though - you will love it.

thanks for the help buddy :) edit the fans all run and the small bios light comes on but theres no debug led it just flashes when i switch the power on.

You will need the 24pin and 8pin near the CPU connected, the PSU is a modular one right? are the cables you need in the box for the PSU?

Can you give me your full spec - will be easier to perhaps advise. Have to say that the debug light flashing is deffo not right. Are you able to get in too the bios at all F2 or Del key? Maybe one of the bios is corrupt in which case you can switch to the backup bios and try that. Sure cpu is seated correctly - no bent pins in the socket?

hi guys,my specs are 4770k,ripjaws f314900cl10d ,corsair h100i and a290x.i have connected the two cpu cables and everything is the same, no led debug but the board power light comes on and all fans work and the wee bios lights on but never loads bios, ive tried 2 graphics cards and the boards own hdmi to monitor..

Hmmm,

Try switching to the backup bios - next to bios light you should see a switch to set between bios 1 or backup bios - try the other bios and see if it then shows a correct output from the led debug if still no go - try checking for bent pins in the cpu socket could also try booting with only 1 stick of ram in the furthest slot from the cpu - come back with the results. Are you sure the psu is ok?

ok,tryed the memory in the slot you said now i get the led debug codes 19/15 which is memory initialisation,it then stops and restarts continualy just 19/15 not letting it do that for any lenth of time just in case.what does the oc button ignition actualy do?

Ok were making some progress - can you actually get in too bios inbetween the stops and restarts - we need to acces bios to set the memory timings on your ram or set xmp for the memory in bios as long as it has the correct timings for your ram. If you can hold down both the F2/DEL button and see if you get in too bios - if so set your ram timings as above, and then see if it will behave itself - you hopefully at this point should be able to access the bios OK. If it is all right save the correct timings or xmp settings whichever is correct and shut down the pc. Then add your other sticks of ram back in and hopefully it should be sorted thus far. Do not worry about the OC button at the moment - lets get it running first.

Just noticed page 24 of the manual - you can use memsafe button to set s safe boot for memory timings etc - this should allow access to the bios - you can try that, and then set as above, and add your memory back in - how many sticks of ram
are you installing?

The z87x-oc has a 'mem safe' button. Might be worth trying that. Check page 24 of the manual!!!

Oops, beaten to it...

checked cpu and socket pins all ok,starting computer hangs on led debuf 15 for 6 seconds then loops continualy.(2 sticks of 8 gig)

tryed memory safe button no difference unfortunatly:(

Go back and try 1 stick in the last memory slot, and see if you can get in to bios. If you can get in to bios - set timings as I suggested - if not have you tried the backup bios - again with one stick. If not try a bios reset and try again - if still no joy then maybe RMA time for the board?????

in bios now thankfully trying to figure out what to do next:)

Follow my directions above to set/check memory timings are correct. Have you got one or two sticks of memory or 4? How many are in at the moment?

Most important to set the mem timings or xmp for them if correct and then go from there. Check cpu is at default settings 3500.Chect temperatures as well to make sure it is all running ok - then we can go from there.

windows installed and everything seems to be ok, thanks for all your help mark:) and all the others who took the time to reply cheers guys.

Glad you got it sorted. Enjoy the board, it really can be great. Check out the main thread we have going on :)

It was a pleasure to be able to help - a lot of very helpful people on here, and very knowledgeable too. Glad your up and running - enjoy.

Keep us posted with how you get on as you get to know the board etc.

I had the memory problem with 19 followed by 15 as well. For me was just the memory was not quite pushed in properly on the side that doesn't clip in, so just gave it a little force and then it was in and working :)
