Gigabyte 7970 Windforce only using <30% GPU

Just started using Radeon Pro with the new Gigabyte 7970 Windforce that I got yesterday and am noticing that the GPU usage never seems to go over 30% - I only have tried setting it on world of warcraft so far, but it seems REALLY odd, that it doesnt push the card any further than that, especially when the FPS is sitting at around 30fps in a crowded zone (all details on ultra).

Is this a known issue?

WoW is an old game that won't push the card in the slightest. The crowded zone will only really tax the CPU more.

Download a demo of a new game like Sleeping Dogs or something off Steam and check it then.

30% usage for WOW sounds about right? A 7970 is way overkill for it. 30FPS in crowded areas sounds like internet lag? i dunno i maybe wrong

unfortunately, it seems WoW is CPU bottlenecked.
Overclocked my CPU to 4.1 GHz and the GPUusage/framerate both went up.
Tried it in BF3 and got 90%+ GPU usage.
All is well with the world

Aye, CPU limited at anything less than Eyefinity resolutions.
I run 100% solid on GPU in WoW because I play on 3 x 1080p screens.

You would think with the kind of money they are making, they would build a new engine from ground up that scale up to 4-8 threads and migrate users accounts across...but from business point of view, it's not worth their effort, as it is not really an investment that would see great return on their revenue.

It would probably take another 5-10 years before CPU is fast enough to maintain solid 60fps on wow considering it is pretty much runs on a single thread.
