Gigabyte Auros 2080ti Extreme - Poor Time Spy Scores

It seems it was user error

I put the standard cooler back on and ran it, it was hitting around 1900mhz and giving a score of around 1400 on timespy for the GPU.

Add the wc block back on and did the paste better, now its hitting around 1900mhz and 14252 on timespy for the gpu without any overclocking or tweaking. Will keep testing it but so far so good.
Fair play for reporting back despite it being a mistake :D Glad you got it sorted.

New update.

Temps started to shoot up to around 65c to 70c and card would downclock to around 1600. Water temps were fine.

After reseating the block 3 times and getting the same result. I decided to buy the EKWB block that wasn’t available previously.

Finished setup earlier today and the card doesn’t go above 45c and hitting around 2100 stable.

Seems the Phanteks block was naff and comparing it to the EWKB its no where near as good quality, I think I’ll try return it as it’s no good.

Also I ditched the ekwb vector fans as wasn’t that impressed, bought some ugly but expensive Noctua fans and they’re incredible, can’t hear them at all. Shame they look so bad.

What Noctua fans did you get? Imagine if they actually did RGB fans.... they would make (in doctor evils voice) billions of Dollars!!!!!

Have had vardar's before and was never impressed by them. I have ml120's now which have been great. Noctuas are amazing however, just shame about the colour schemes :p. They do look really good in the right color themed build though.

Glad its sorted, been using EKWB blocks for years and never had an issue they are top quality. New lineup look great especially.
