gigabyte ds3 + 6420

Is a ds3 revision 3.3 good to go with a 6420 1066 fsb cpu
or are they limited to 800 mhz cpu's.

DS3 will work fine with 1066 chips. It's only the newer 1333 chips that won't work with that board.

I had an e6600 on a revision 1 P965 DS3 with no problems a few months ago.

You'll be fine afaik.

Yes i thought so a bit miffed that already it looks like i will need a new
board shortly is it me or is the time between upgrades becoming less
and less these days no doubt there will be another new socket
and p35 owners will be ditching those in 2 months lol

Why would you need a new motherboard? Does the DS3 v3.x not already support the upcoming Intel 1333 CPu's?

DS3 rev 3.3 is 1333 capable.

revision 3v3 supports the 1333mhz C/Q 2 duos with 65nm fabrication process, doesnt support 45nm (penryn).
