Hi,

I have my Zalman connected to my CPU header but the header has 4 pins rather than the usual 3, I think the forth pin is for speed control. When I boot up the fan kicks in for about half a second and then stops completely. The system boots up normally and goes into Windows.

If I connect it to one of the normal headers then its fine!! Do I need a special connector ot something?

Any ideas?

Cheers.

yeah i had the same problem with the DS4, Just use the bottem port and it worked perfect for me :S

You need to configure the fan in the BIOS. Go into PC Health Status and set FAN Speed Control Method to Legacy and FAN Speed Control Mode to Voltage. It may still not start up fully until the CPU warms up but it will after at most a minute or so.

Yeah as said above you need to change the Fan Speed control in the BIOS to Legacy for it to spin all the time or turn it off so it runs full speed all the time, as Legacy is a temperature control one, whereby it will spin faster/slower depending on how hot the CPU gets, if you leave as is without spinning though it will be fine, as when your CPU gets to a certain temperature it will start spinning anyway, but for peace of mind its best to change it, i just use Legacy. :)
