Gigabyte DS4 + E6600

That new bios is certainly a lot better for overclocking but it seems to decrease performance in 3dmark.

On the F2 Bios the max I could get was 4866 with a speed of 2.3Ghz, with this one I scored 4750 with a speed of 2.8Ghz and only 5020 with a speed of 3.1Ghz (E6300). Obviously the beta bios from that german site isn't quite right yet.

MOT not having a dig or anything and while yes maybe the german bios isn't fully up to scratch yet, but seriously do you notice that performance difference between the 2 3dmark scores? IMO too many people live by benchamark scores, let me just ask you something how many benchmarks do you actually play? isn't real life gameing more important if that's your poison of choice?

Hi Asgard, been playing with my DS4 E6600 and the Geil 6400 ram, not getting very far I must admit, this BIOS details about voltage is rubbish, the ram for instance says + voltage but from where what does the motherboard set ram voltage to as standard? Seems crazy I've been upping the voltage and messing with the speeds not even got as far as changing timings best I can get is around 3GHz super pi 32 stable, I must say unless I can get it going soon I might try the Asus as well is it that much better?
Also can't find a F3 BIOS for the DS4 have found them for the DS3.
What sort of ram voltage increase should I go for and what voltage would you feed the CPU?

I assume the default voltage is 1.8 but I'm not 100% on this. On my HZ I upped by 0.2 to achieve 1000. The relative voltage increase is a rubbish idea when you dont know the reference. The key voltages for high OC's on the DS4 are MCH & FSB below 475 I left them at .1 for 500 I raised them to 0.35. The F3 Bios does not exist yet its called F3B. Email me and I will send you the bios. The P5W is rubbish for high OC's but it does not have the post issue. I'm using a 6600 running at 3.33 running at 1.4 volts which is sweet for topping out my memory. It will run higher but needs more volts which then works on a worse divider.

try 0.2 for Ram and 1.4 for CPU @ 475 with 0.3 on the MCH & FSB.

Let me know if it helps via email m8

tempted to switch BIOS too, i dont have the RAM for uber fast FSBs (Corsair XMS2 667MHz stuff) but i think it should still clock to 800MHz (if not a bi higher) but its not loving it really, even with volt increase. Whats a safe limit for Vcore on a E6300 then out of curiosity?

HAPPY

Hey followed the advice F3 BIOS ram voltage was 1.83 std so upped it.

Hey presto just done 12+ hours dual prime @ 3.15GHz and a super Pi 32m @ 3.42GHz :D :D :D

Happy Happy Happy :D :D

Now just keep playing for more but if it can't do any more then so be it, it's so fast I don't really care.

Just had a new Dell Dual core laptop today and this Conroe makes it look like a Pentium 2 400MHz

Thanks for the advice chaps.
