will have an i5 3570K and hopefully an aftermarket cooler Zalman CNPS7500
(needs to go into a DESKTOP case and be quiet) and will be used for gaming (it's that or ask for a divorce and gaming is safer. I cannot bear many more evenings of Coronation street, Eastenders and other assorted dross)

not interested in dual graphic cards

I see Gigabyte have gone to v1.1 of their board while ASUS are still on v1.0

so any recommendations or otherwise about the boards ?

Its a tough call with these boards. I've been looking in the same market as yourself but i though those two boards were only 1155 socket boards and not 2011?

Thats interesting to know, could i use a 3770K with a ASUS P8Z77-V LE board or does it only apply to certain Ivy Bridge CPU's?

OP:
With that cleared up it depends what you are looking for. both boards are pretty neck and neck with the same features, but the ASUS board has the better BIOS and is a much better overclocker (in my experience) but if overclocking isnt a must the Gigabtye board maybe cheaper and the way to go.
