Hey people,

I dont know if its something I'm doing but with the Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard I cant set the BIOS to start from the RAID array... I have followed the intructions but nothing, has anyone else had this problem with the RAID array??

I have also noticed that when you set up two arrays using both RAID chips you can't access the BIOS without having to reset the BIOS as it skips the boot screen....

Well I'm not too sure, but I was reading over at XS that people are having trouble with the IRQ allocation on this mobo too. Have a look to see what yours is. You will most likely have to wait for a new BIOS to come out to fix the problems.

Shame really, I was going to ask you if you thought this motherboard was any good as I am thinking of getting it.

Its a really good board, just the problem with the RAID thats annoying... Gigabyte will have to fix this pretty fast if they want my money ever again...

Just a quick question, do IDE DVD drives work to boot up windows setup? I was reading that some boards don't have native support for IDE so the IDE port needs to have drivers installed for it to work.

Nope I installed it fine with my DVD drive... Windows XP installs fine with IDE optical drives

Read somewhere the other day that there were problems with RAID on this board. Not an issue for me but a pain in the arse for those who will use it. Hopefully a BIOS update asap :)

Yeah, not a problem for me either.

yeah i have the board and all my other bits and pieces which arrived on Friday.. just waiting on the Conroe now. Annoyingly as my old system doesn't have a PCI-E slot i can't get on with things and make sure the X1900XT is working fine to put the VF900 on it.

Oh well, hopefully we'll see some Conroe's this week.

Another DS4 owner here - and another none-RAID DS4 user so this issue shouldn't cause me any problems.
Just need to wait for the Conroe to arrive now and then I'm there.

Could you possibly send me a linky mate?? or post it on here would help

Stelly

I saw it earlier today, I'm still trying to find the link.

EDIT: It appears that one is a DQ6 BIOS, sorry Stelly, if that one is around I wouldn't have thought it would take long for the others to follow it.
