wee , stick to 7 its the boss! glad you got it sorted mate, i know what you went through the 8 hours of doing all manner of stuff to get my only gpu working again nearly had me tearing my hair out!
Just to let you know, when upgrading my driver to the 320.x line my screen went black during the install, fans jumped to 100% and well you know the rest

still think theres a chance - it might be short lived - but we'll see. Something definately went properly hardware wrong with the card when it couldn't be detected at all - by 2 PCs - did cleaning the contacts help ? or maybe just leaving overnight without power, allowed something in some memory somewhere to reset - who knows
