Running A GA P35C-DS3R with a Q6600 and 4 x 1gb Ballistix PC5300, all seems fine but after a while pc just crashes and goes into a continuous reboot loop, take out 2gb and its fine, either set works fine by themselves and both are reported error free in memtest 86+. Originally I had everything set to auto as far as mem timings go etc, but even after I changed to manual timings of 3-3-3-9 and 2.2v and mem divider to manual 667 still crashing after several hours. Odd thing is it rarely does it when im using the computer its only after successfully logging in from work via vnc in the morning and trying again later in the afternoon it doesnt connect so I know its crashed. Bios is the latest F4 I believe, anyone else got this board with 4 x 1gb sticks in? Thought Id sorted it last night but came down this morning to see it had crashed again. Makes no diff if pc is clocked or at stock.

*edit* forgot to mention mines a rev 1.x board :(

just seems a bit bizzare both sets will do 8500 4-4-4-12 no probs on their own but wont run well together, ill up the volts a tad and maybe like gvers has done increase the MCH

did that work bradmax?

I have a problem running my 2x1GB Corsair Twinx XMS2 PC6400

at 400mhz - just errors in Prime blend within minutes.

I have tried using +.1 +.2 and +.3

I am scared to go any higher

I'll have to try when i get in, mines working fine with 2x1gb, its only when using 4 slots, whats your rams voltage specified at as thats 2.1v i think using +.3

I feel your pain

I too have a P35C_DS3R , I ran it for 3 months on 2G of geil 6400C4 UUL without incident ( ram @ 860 4-4-4-12 )

I got 4 x 1G 8500C5 Ballistix 2 weeks ago , its been a nightmare!

I can run 2 x 1G , or 2 x 1G other set but not BOTH at the same time :-(

I have tried testing each stick individually and in pairs using memtest 1.70
and they check out fine. If all tested at once at default speeds without any overclocking at all , they poop themselves after about 3 mins on memtest.

After trying several different things I have come to the conclusion that this mobo cannot run 4 sticks of ballistix at once.

See my thread here for more info

I tried contacting crucial but they were no help , Iam trying gigabyte to see if the have any answers ( dont hold out much hope tho )

One weird thing is I can run 3 x 1G stick without problem at an overclocked speed. ( but the memory is slower due to it running in Flex mode )
It just seems like 4G is one stick too far
Or as one engineer would put it "She canny take it!"
I suggest you also contact gigabyte to see if they can look into this , maybe if enough people complain they might investigate the issue.

is yours the P35C or the regular P35 DS3R? as in your post you state P35 with F6 bios, most recent bios I can find for the P35C is F4, i could possibly understand not being able to run all 4 sticks at PC8500 even if the ram is able to but Im trying to run at stock of PC5300. Might buy myself a 2x2gb set of something to play with.

Thanks for spotting my typos ( sorry i got sausage fingers - have corrected them)

Yep its the P35C_DS3R and the Bios is the F4 not F6

I tried the ram at 800Mhz ( 6400 ) it still screwed up with 4 x 1G sticks in

Ive emailed Gigabyte with my probs, ill see if i get any response, wonder if its a crucial/ micron incompatability thing only

Albeit not your exact model and revision of motherboard my GA-P35C-DS3 v 2.0 board is running 4x1GB sticks of Geil 6400 DDR2 memory absolutely fine at 4-4-4-12 at 800mhz.

I did try all four of my sticks in my Father in Laws P35C DS3R revision 1.x and it just crashed. BUT I did not test them extensively nor did I try to bottom out the problem as my own revision 2 board was bought the day after.

I have the same board as you, Rev1.1, and have been running with 4 sticks of Corsair XMS for the last few weeks, not had any problems whatsoever so maybe it is a Crucial/Micron issue.

Can someone help me out ?
GO to Bios hardware monitor and read off what it says for ram voltage
After reflashing mine and loading optimised defaults ( mem voltage = manual )
It reads 2.384V ( with 2 stick installed )

Gonna put all 4 stick in now and give it a go ( crossess fingers )
