Gigabyte RMA

Ah damn. Well its coming up to a year since I've had it. I will give ocuk a phone tomorrow then I can drive up and drop it off. Would certainly be quicker that way, but I don't think Ocuk will take it off me as its been over 30 days.
 
Well I just got off the phone with Gigabyte and they have to be the most unhelpful tech support people going. The phone was answered by a 'hello' followed by seconds of silence. So I started telling him my problem.

Once I had fininshed telling him what was wrong, yet another few seconds of silence had passed, and by this point I was wondering if anyone was actually listening. Finally a foreign (sounded chinese) guy, who sounded like he was 12 tried speak english. He said to phone gigabyte. Now hold the phone, who the hell am I talking to? :confused:

Anyway, he suggested all the things I've already said I had done so he was no help there, then he said it would cost me £10 to return it to them, plus the usual postage costs there and back. I wasn't best pleased about this so I said I would try ocuk to see if they would take it. He then put the phone down? :confused:

Is there a higher than usual failure rate on DS4s? Mine was bought as an rma return, and I've seen other threads asking about rma procedures where people were returning DS4s. I would have thought that these mobos were not that popular by comparison to DS3s....should I be worried?

Well this is the second one I've returned in just under a year. This is a rev 1, and we are up to rev 3 now, so I don't know if those are any better.
 
I had to RMA my motherboard earlier in the year and they said I could have sent it back to the etailer for them to send on free or pay £10 and send it direct. I sent it direct and had it returned to me within 2 weeks. Not a bad experience in my books.
Did you ring 01908-362700??
