I have the GA-K8NXP-9:

And I have all 4 of the normal SATA connections used up. There are another 4 at the top, which are for the nVidia Raid function, but this is turned off. However according the what I have set in the BIOS, these SATA connections are still enabled... but it does not seem to pick up the new DVD-RW I have just put in
