I bought a Gigabyte H55M-UD2H plus stuff from Overclockers, which on first build failed to boot - with no post beeps. Eventually RMA'd it to OC, who said it had pin damage on the cpu socket. Indeed it did, on a couple of pins - although as a long-term builder really not sure how I would have caused it. Either way, I picked up a charge of £20-ish.

Found a link to Gigabyte UK service and after going through their support service (excellent), then RMA service - and being completely open about what had happened - sent it to them. Within three days I have it back, repaired and no charge!

Conclusion I shall always have a very strong preference to use Gigabyte.

Now let me get this right, you rma your board to ocuk find That YOU damaged the cpu pins,so wouldn,t replace it as its user error,so you post on here saying there service is bad

If the board had arrived damaged you should have simply sent it back and would have got a replacement in the same time frame. If you return something to any retailer then tell them you broke it, ofc they'd ask you to pay for it. You wouldn't break something in a shop and not expect to pay for it.

Anyway, gigabyte have a uk rma centre. Either they simply sent a new board or replaced the socket from spares (something no etailer can do).

I have always found Gigabyte to be a top brand. I havent actually gone through their customer service however as I have always found their products to be really solid!
Glad to hear they fixed it alright for you.

I have had similar experiences with GigaUK RMA dept - and similar problems with other retailers as a result I do not bother going through the retailers any more as it takes too long to effect the replacement.

I have said time and again Gigabyte have the best RMA service currently available in the UK. And if you build as many systems each week as I tend to you are always going to have a few hic-ups and it is really reassuring to know you will get excellent service.

OCUK have their own policy regarding RMA and I respect their position.
