Gigabyte UD3r memory trouble

I have the same issues all the time.. swaping the modules around sometimes works but i generally swap the modules as i keep substantial stocks. Weird thing is that i can use them in another board and they seem to work fine.. Weird... does it with 6gb or 12gb...

I fully sympathise with you dubsdj... I have exactly the same issue and I'm tired of people suggesting that I check the CPU pins! I got no help from Gigabyte or OCZ tech support. They more or less blamed each other.

When the 6GB appears are you confident it is stable? have you stressed it? Try running memtest overnight or Prime95 on blend test. I have found the best way to do a quick memory stress test is 10 or 20 passes on LinX. If you get any errors at all it proves the problem is present all the time and not just when you drop to 4GB.

What make/model is your DDR3? What is your VDRAM, QPI/VTT and Vcore setting?

If the problem contines I suggest running the ram at lower settings to see if it solves the problem.

The RAM in my computer at work is rated 1600 but I get 4gb showing on a cold boot at that speed, the problem is solved running under 1300. You are not going to notice any difference in performance.

The RAM is corsair with an ASUS MB.

Yeah I know. It runs absolutely fine at lower speeds.
Its just that I wan't to explore all avenues before accepting defeat with this.

Its still working since I upgraded to the beta bios.. the current record is a week so I'll have to wait a few more days to find out if it worked or not.

It's still working, Its beaten the last record set.

I might be getting ahead of myself but I think its working since I upgraded the bios.

Consider it fixed..

Guess the beta bios did the trick.

I will only update this if anything else happens.

thanks for everyones input on this problem.
