Hello Mates,
Just joined OC UK to find out about Gigabyte UK RMA at present. It used to be good in past in UK but cant see any recent reviews. I Have just sent my GTX 1080 to RMA and waiting since monday when they receivd it and they say to give them 3-5 working days. The card was bought only a little over a month ago but the local shop now closed, hence I had to go through Gigabyte directly. It was literally New used it for a day or two but started freezing and giving artifacts. Spent about 4/5 Days with Gigabyte eSupport who couldnt solve it and finally had to go through UK RMA cantre approval. I had to pay sending cost as per Gigabyte policy but they said only this time they will do a free return as Gesture of good will, which I appreciate but I think it should be free for all. Now will they replace it with a new simmilar card or will it be a repair or a used card? My card was mint so naturally expectation is simmilar. Other thing is if in future the replaced/repaired card falls again in its 3 year warrenty period will it be a free return in both ways? How many times I can claim their warrenty if needed? As RM SP delivery for a product weight above 1KG is about £11 and I dont know or certainly not want to go through RMA again for a near £500 item.
Regards
Ash
Update: OK on 5th day (Friday) sent email asking for an update as of today (sunday) No reply. Hopefully monday they will reply? Will update this as to how the RMA goes.
Update: Today (monday) got a reply Saying they are waiting for a swap, ETA this week. No further info provided, Im not 100% sure what that means hopefully it will be new replacement coming this week? Will keep you updated.
Final Update :
Today (Tuesday) just got my RMA back from Gigabyte in the same box with out a prior notice/TXT was bit surprised as yesterday they said ETA this week, didnt quite expect it to popup next day. They have replaced my Card and it works as it should. Also thers few marks on back plate looks like some one opened it and also put a new S/N on it. theres glue all over PCB needs acleanup and still one side of the s/n stiker coming off. I wonder how they will look in to that if another RMA required in future. (They did reqire proofe of purchase which still have my old s/n) But rest of the card looks mint as mine originally was. Thanks Gigabyte.
So I guess Gigabyte UK RMA still quite good, though theres some room for improvement. I would give them 4.5 out of 5 this time. But same time I hope I dont have to go through RMA again. I would love to see a 15 days warrenty extension aswell because of the time spent in tech support and RMA? Though its not a Big Deal (Since most likely will upgrade before that lol) Quality control needs to improve to prevent lemon out of Brand new sealed box lol But yes they stand beside their warrenty. Thanks Gigabyte and every one in this forum, Now finally some gaming!
