Gigabyte X99 SOC 2 x CPU power sockets ?

i have bought this clearance board to go with a xeon chip which probably wont over clock. the motherbaord has 2x CPU power connecters 1x 4pin and 1x 8pin, do i need to used both? I believe my EVGA PSU has them, but just wondered if both are needed

well I messed that one up, the cpu bargain I thought I had was a 2011v1 not v3, so had to return everything...
