Gigabyte Z87X-OC RIP

Another Update for you all

Hi all,

My failed board has just been sent back to Gigabyte this morning along with both the CPU and Ram - they are talking of replacing the board this time, but wanted to test both cpu and Ram this time to make sure.

Fingers crossed - hope this will be the end of my woes.

Ps Good service from Gigabyte still though - because they have not given up on me. Kudos.

Sorry to hear your problem op, but if its any consolation this thread saved me some serious grief.

My Gigabyte Z97 was dead (no lights or anything) when I powered up after coming back home from Christmas away with family. Stulid's reminder to disconnect everything including USB in post #20 followed by removing the battery brought mine back to life.

I've lost my overclock but have a working PC again.

Heard back from Gigabyte this morning, and would you believe it - they are testing my board the same way as I am with same components on the bench, and guess what - it accesses both bios ok and boots ok.

What gives here - I am totally bemused as to why when I try it I get code A9.
Still they have now said they will replace the board for me anyway - so great service from Gigabyte. It is just aggravating why we both get different results, it is so weird and annoying. I have seen many things with hardware/software over 20 years or so of experience, but this.........

I had a similar problem once, turned out to be the DVI connector on my monitor. The faulty connector stopped my pc booting. Doesn't explain your error code, but worth checking.
