Kick ass!

Does it heck! :p Most feature rich and insane board for Z87 on the market by far. £100 off is RAM for your new build or an SSD. Either way I wouldnt say no to such an awesome bit of kit if I was in the market :)

Skimmed thread title and thought "£60 for the board I want? Must buy now...". Come into thread and spot "OC Force". Silly me lol

All i require from a motherboard as a gamer are PCI-E slots (at least 1 full x16 slot), USB ports (i'd say at least 4) and a few SATA ports ;). Gamers don't need expensive motherboards unless they plan on achieving some extreme overclocks or run triple/quad graphics cards. A gamer should really spend the extra cash on a decent GPU as the main priority and then the CPU (that's my opinion anyway :D).

why would you need this over a normal OC board? its £200 more... what makes it worth £200 more (£300 when not on offer?)

Id rather my Asus Maximus VI Formula, at least it comes with a ready-to-watercool mobo block :P

That is one expensive mobo!

I'm guessing this is Gigabytes offering to take on the ROG boards that OC'ers use, it's no gamer board (the G1 is) for many of the reasons already mentioned (and price tag), although colour scheme is quite cool!?

Would be great to see what some of the Enthusiast/LN2 guys think of this board as that seems to be the market its aimed at? Price tag is around the MAX VI E, XPower and G1. Although interesting to note this board has HDMI & DP for onboard gfx, no DVI (same as the Sniper).

Andrew the 'summary' on the website lists it as having 2 PCI slots (it has none) and only 1x Gbit LAN (it has 2).

As said its for "real" overclockers which means 99.9% need not apply to asking "why do much". Its almost a case of "if you have to ask you cant afford" but instead on "not afford" it should read "if you have to ask you shouldnt buy one".

Its a high end board to overclock, run MORE THAN 2 overclocked cards on etc. The OC options, memory tweaking and overall tweaking of the board far surpasses that of pretty much anything else you can buy bar perhaps the Maximus 6 Extreme and depending on what your doing this board is either going to be better for the job or worse.

The Z87X-OC is an overclockers board for those who like to overclock and get the most from a system. It is not a benchers board, its a cheap alternative so you can build a system with an "OC" board thats orange saving you a few hundred to spend elsewhere.

See this as a no expense spared option :)
