Gigabytes Z87X OC Force - £100 off until Monday the 4th!!

As said its for "real" overclockers which means 99.9% need not apply to asking "why do much". Its almost a case of "if you have to ask you cant afford" but instead on "not afford" it should read "if you have to ask you shouldnt buy one".

Its a high end board to overclock, run MORE THAN 2 overclocked cards on etc. The OC options, memory tweaking and overall tweaking of the board far surpasses that of pretty much anything else you can buy bar perhaps the Maximus 6 Extreme and depending on what your doing this board is either going to be better for the job or worse.

The Z87X-OC is an overclockers board for those who like to overclock and get the most from a system. It is not a benchers board, its a cheap alternative so you can build a system with an "OC" board thats orange saving you a few hundred to spend elsewhere.

See this as a no expense spared option :)

This is the most crucial bit :P

Except it lacks some high end options other boards have, like direct thermal probe connections, power monitoring connections and LN2 modes...?

Also it looks like it has watercooling barbs already fitted?

Yeah it's expensive, it's definitely for a small niche market, will be plenty of people using a £150 board for SLI for the sake of 1-2 fps. I managed to get the Z77 version of this board for £200 on a one day deal, but never even bothered to use it.

- 1 x onboard voltage measurement module
- 2 x BIOS switches (one is LN2 mode)

Not sure if this board has direct thermal probe connections, I think the ASRock Z87 OC Formula does? Other than that I don't know if any other Z87 boards do?

I'll eat my hat then! :p

Does it say what the voltage measurement module covers? Input/CPU/RAM/PCI-E?

for those who like to flaunt and compare E-peni$'s only I would have thought.

Ludicrous for all but the vast minority !
