Girlfriend not able to drink... what do?

GET OVER IT! I had a serious accident at 17 and cant drink. Does it bother me? Nope. Im always sober and can drive etc.... This works for me as I love driving. I dont see why people get soo excited about going out ad spending £100 on drink and not having anything to show for it bar a headache. Each to their own!

obviously you never experienced drunken sex before that accident although it tends to be better if your sober and the woman is drunk :D most women get more into it after a few drinks even the ones are are boring in bed when sober are right goers once they consume a bit of alchohol

The non-alcoholic drinks testing sounds like a good idea, just to rule out it being a mental thing. One more thing you can test really, and possibly be helpful and figure it our for her, win win.

Well I havent been drunk. Mrs has a few drinks now and then tho ;)

A silly question here but does high caffine food & drinks cause the migrains too?
could just be dehydration.

Some people suffer low hydration levels and need to take in extra water all the time.... coffee, redbull & alcohol are all dehydration causes.... That's why people get hangovers.

Might be worth a try to drink say 2-3 litres of water a day, then at night just have one glass of alcohol to try - see what happens or you can get somthing called "Dioralyte Relief" it's not a drug you can get it off the shelf in Asda or Tesco it's just a helps the body absorb more water...

Worth a try..... Failing that it might be worth thinking if she can't drink then you should stop drinking around her...... this will show your supporting her thinking of her feelings

one good thing to say, by the time's she's 50 the no alcohol life will make her look 30 still LOL....MILF :-)

Haha, nice idea - but in all honesty, I've never met anyone who drinks as much water as she does. Dehydration is definitely not the issue here?

As for the caffeine, nope, she has a coffee every morning and is absolutely fine.

Some more replies to posts I CBA quoting:

For those who've suggested I try getting her to drink something alcoholic without her knowing, or non-alcoholic under the pretense of it being alcoholic... it's an idea, but I'd feel like a horrible *******! Part of me thinks it might be psychological, but it's not up to me to decide really. Regardless of the cause, the symptoms are very real.

As for getting an allergy test, this is another thing I've been trying to get her to do for ages. Full allergy screens are a pain in the arse on the NHS, and over-the-counter don't test for much. She's allergic to something, I know that. Cold-like symptoms that just come on out of nowhere, itchiness, rashes sort of thing. Might be washing up powder, could be anything. She's a very stubborn girl though, and thinks she'll be wasting doctor's time.

It's quite clear to me she's been faking the migraines as she's actually preggers and thus doesn't actually want to drink any alcohol.

Congratulations!

Something very creepy about this :o

@OP: It's not a huge issue, so long as there's no actual underlying problem there. You don't need to drink to enjoy yourself, and if you do need it then you're doing it wrong.

maybe she drinks to much you can actually drown yourself from drinking to much water

"If you put salty water on onion skin the cells will shrink, if you put too much water on it the cells will swell," he says.

This swelling is a problem in the brain.

"When the brain swells, it is inside a bony box so has nowhere to go," he says. "The pressure increases in the skull and you may get a headache. As the brain is squeezed it compresses vital regions regulating functions such as breathing

I do wonder for humanity sometimes when not being able to drink upsets people. Really?

is this case it seems more like a social thing than getting rat arse'd every weekend.

op mentions that she's a bit shy, and it helps her relax and be more socialable so fair enough.

never done one but seen these confidence building courses etc, might be worth a look to make things easier.
