tell me your not referring to Group IS, the shoddy company that looks after our IT system that i have to ring weekly to get some support noob making things worse thinking they know stuff they dont..

I only deal with supporting the server/client and I've never had any training - 'tis on a server so 'tis part of my job.

That's the way IT works here...

onto your GIS, I review GIS drawings regularly but wont be able to help you with any form of production etc..

I learnt the basics on work experience, and then in the process of doing more advanced tasks at uni.

ok - in what line of work are you then mate? im just asking as ive graduated as a building surveyor but cant find a job. A lot that are suitable want GIS experience! and im not totally sure what the heck they are talking about

I work in Group IS.....

Not the company you are on about i guess just the IT Deparment of a big company.

Soon our people will have to ring up shoddy non-english speaking clueless about IT Indian people

i feel sorry for them

.... but then i remember that the company is keeping them on and sacking us
